I realize you're trolling, and I also realize that science is also "faith-based" to a point because nobody can understand all scientific fields these days so experts are defacto priests of sorts within their areas of specialty, but I have a hard time accepting that there is a single version of God's word when I can find a hundred different interpretations out there. There isn't one word ... there are thousands.

Assuming $DIETY is all powerful and all knowing, why doesn't he simply show himself? Why engage in such childish (and frankly cruel) testing? And why permit different branches of believers in Himself to war with each so cruelly over the centuries?

Faith can certainly be powerful in human terms, but the results of faith-based actions are usually not measurable or reproducible on demand. Science demands a certain level of predictability and reproducibility in order to accept something as true.

Christianity and science are usually not mutually exclusive, and many of the scientists I know who are Christian (and many of the non-scientist Christians I know)are secure enough in their faith to not question basic scientific tenants because, to them, there is no conflict.

It's all about trusting God. Many people pray but do not have true faith.

I've seen some truly miraculous things happen through God's divine interaction. I wish that everyone were open to God working in their lives.

No, I'm not trolling. I'm simply telling you what I believe. Every Bible translation that I've seen has the same meaning, just in a different format.

People do interpret some scriptures differently. Some scripture sometimes appears a bit more vague than most scripture, but, by and large, there's a general meaning behind it.

He does show himself and His might works. Just look at this planet, the solar system, the galaxy and the universe. That's God. That's Him showing His Works. I realize that you're looking for a "God speaking to you in an audio voice", but that doesn't mean that He's cruel.

My dad had a "near"-death experience. The afterlife is real. God is real. Trust God with your life.

Over the years it's been lost throughout the various translations, but most scholars of Christianity know that Jesus was quite fond of saying "thou shalt not prosthelytize on the internet" in many of his sermons.

Every now and then I'm reminded as to how regressive Georgia is. I'm glad to see many people on here that are realistic and that restores my faith in society.

I think someone previously mentioned this, but you can sit at home and worship your coffee table for all I care but when you stifle the advancement and intellectual curiosity of a society solely based on your views then that makes me angry.
