So, a few quick hitters about me: I'm a 24 year old male, recent grad from Alabama who just accepted a job in Atlanta. The interesting thing about my job is that I will be working from home 99% of the time with occasional meetings with the team or clients. These meetings USUALLY take place in Alpharetta but they are flexible depending on who's meeting and what about. A number of people in the company live further from Atlanta for various reasons (some live on Lake Lanier, one actually lives in Auburn, AL).

Anyway, I've really appreciated all of the things I've learned about the area from this website so I wanted to see what some of you had to say regarding my somewhat-unique situation. Since I don't really have to take into account location as far as getting to work is concerned, I can really live wherever I'd like in the city as long as I can afford it. Speaking of that, what I'm looking for is:

•*2BR/1+BA apartment (would like to use the second BR as an office, but would be open to 1BR)
•*Max Rent: $900 (might be able to swing $1000)
•*Must be pet friendly (have a medium sized [35lbs] dog who is very mild mannered and well trained)
•*Primary consideration is safety
•*Other considerations include amenities (would love pool/fitness center, which is pretty standard these days), proximity to things to do (eating, shopping, movies, a couple bars, etc.), and accessibility in regards to the area (for family/friends visiting)

I hope that's not biting off more than I can chew. I've found apartment hunting was much easier in Alabama. I would've loved to have been able to be in the thick of things in somewhere like Midtown for the nightlife and the age range, but I doubt I'll be able to afford anything worthwhile (or safe) within my price range.

I've been primarily looking in north-northeast ATL (Sandy Springs/Dunwoody, Roswell, Norcross, Doraville, Duluth, John's Creek). I'd like to be relatively close to 285 but rent will dictate that I'm assuming. I don't like going to websites like apartmentratings.com 'cause it's nothing but negative reviews ('cause happy people don't feel the need to share it with the world apparently) so any and all advice y'all could give me would be fantastic. I'm going to keep reading what I can on here and I look forward to hearing from y'all.

Yes, I was going to recommend Vinings also. I lived in an apartment in Vinings for about three years and loved it. The location is great and at the time it was really affordable.

Good luck in your search!
