I know that's right. I never had a problem riding MARTA, but it felt like half the time it felt like I was 4 or 5 shades lighter than everybody else on the train and at the stations. Actually, to be quite honest, I've noticed a lot of either one color or another majority type things in Atlanta. This city reminds me of the 1960s in a ton of ways...everyday.

I never understood how the state of Georgia & it's legislators can dictate to MARTA what it can or can't do when they don't even fund them. This is unheard of here in Florida.

PS: I can't believe people here are still discussing racial issues regarding white people ( whatever that means) riding MARTA!

Might as well shut it down, because race and class is at the root of MARTA. There is no away around it; therefore, these are the issues that come up every single time.

I agree with it being more of a class issue. If people have alternatives to MARTA, they often choose them due to the inefficiencies and limitations of the MARTA system.

On another note. FEAR NO MORE WHITE PEOPLE. YOU CAN RIDE MARTA, WE HAS POLICE.

MARTA -- "Ok.. we need an ad to help white people feel safe while riding MARTA. Go get a photo with the whitest family you can find. The more Aryan, the safer they will feel!"

This coming from a cuban in Miami?? Dude stop playing. Florida plays a few roles in what Miami, Orlando, Jacksonville & Tampa Bay can do or what moves they are allowed to make.

Greg what's the point? People feel how they feel closing threads is not going to change that. Eventually it will just die of or get bumped when major news in connected to the op.

I'm with soulcontroller and Flyimetro on this issue.

MARTA has been a controversial entity from its very beginning. To simply try to sweep under the rug one of the most defining characteristics of its existence is to do a grave injustice to any sort of reform-minded discussion of transportation in metro Atlanta & Georgia, by large.

Either all the cards should be on the table...or none of the cards should be.
