I have heard nothing but great things about the Halloween Parade.

I heard they shut down some of the streets and public consumption is allowed, is that true?

Awesome suggestions! Does the L5P festival continue after the parade is over? It looks like we might not be free until 6:00 on Saturday.

They do shut the streets down, but public consumption I do not know? I saw people drinking, but its hard to enforce something that petty on thousands of people.

Nice, this will be the first time in a good while that the Halloween Parade and Georgia/Florida game won't happen at exactly the same time.

The Decatur Beer Fest is also happening that day, but tickets sold out within minutes of being on sale and are really expensive in resale.

My neighbor, who has been going to the parade for years, tells me that El Myr (a bar/restaurant on the parade route) sells alcoholic beverages to go, so yes, public consumption is allowed...or tolerated.

Probably a good idea to be discreet, though.

Not trying to steal the thread but I will also be visiting Atlanta for the first time during the next 3 weekends (Augusta during the week for work) and I was wondering where to go out for drinks/food/music; I am 28.

Thanks!

House/hip hop-rap/Latin music.

I just want to check out some cool hip spots in ATL...bars, lounges, probably no club club since i'll be alone most likely.
