Wait, wait, wait....because I know that Virginia Highland and midtown were already great neighborhoods in 2002, I hate the beltline?

I don't know what your definition of "most people" is, but anybody who thinks Virginia Highland was the hood in 2002 should be immediately punched in the stomach. Midtown has improved since then, but even back then it was far from "hood." VaHi though, if anything, isn't even as upscale today as it was in 2002! You are insane.

I don't hate on the Beltline, I just think it is silly to compare it to the Perimeter. Maybe if and when the transportation component becomes reality it will have a major transformative impact on how people get from Point A to Point B in the city, but right now it is just a handful of community parks and broken recreation trails. Not exactly a game-changer ... yet.

I think if all those obnoxious hipsters that have ruined Atlanta can be quarantined within the perimeter created by the beltline then the rest of the world would surely be better off.

I have never seen anything hyped so much in the city of Atlanta and that is saying A LOT.
