I don't think major acting talent is big deal.

I think discussion is or should be more about creative talent plus the labor that is important. Not to mention a good stock of extras.

Meh. Hollywood is basically a big tourist trap these days. Most of the legit movie stuff doesn't even happen there anymore. Paramount is still there but a lot of other major offices and studios have scattered around the LA area. They probably got sick of being harassed by tourists lol.

If I were to ever move to the LA area, it would be for the gorgeous weather and fun people. Not for the "Hollywood energy".

Having said that, Atlanta still has a loooong way to go before it can match the film production capacity of Los Angeles. I would estimate Atlanta currently having maybe 25 - 30% of the capacity that LA has... If even that. We are headed in the right direction though. Last time I was in LA, I told a few people I live in Atlanta and I could tell they took it a little personally (that more gigs are being filmed here instead of LA).

I'd be impressed if it was that much.

The big thing is LA still has alot of sound stages and studios in use and we just don't have many of them yet.

I think we are doing really good on things that need outdoor shooting locations.
