Default Looking for Beautiful Lakes

Next topic...My parents want to follow me down to Atl. They want to live on a lake where they can have jet skiis and a boat. I know of Lake Linear but is there any other lakes around atl? They are looking for a home in the 300 or 400Ks

You may want to check in the Douglas county area (i know there is Sweetwater lake) but I'm not sure if homes are on the lake. You may also want to try the Gwinnette area. I wanna say Buford and/or Suwanee...I think there is a lake somewhere up there. Hope this helps.

If they are looking for a retirement home and do not necessarily want to live in metro Atlanta, they may want to take a look at Lake Oconee (an hour east of Atlanta). It seems to be a more affordable option for a nice lake house than some of the north Georgia lakes.

I would also recommend Lake Oconee. There are some very nice subdivisions there, including one that has a Ritz Carlton on the lake. Some newer shopping centers have sprouted up along Highway 44 off I-20, including a very nice new Publix grocery store. The nearby town of Madison is very nice. Also, my understanding the lake water level does not fluctuate as much as Lanier and Allatoona.
