I am planning on visiting Atlanta next month and was wondering does anyone know of a good place to stay. I want to look at the different areas to get a feel of where I would like to live and I was wondering if anybody knew of a nice hotel (I am not looking for the Ramada or anything expensive!!!). I would prefer to be near downtown or wherever I can actually wander about different locations in the city. I want to arrive on a Friday and leave on a Sunday

Nothing is cheap downtown. Probably the best bet downtown is the Best Western on Spring Street. You should consider staying in an outlaying area and take Marta train to various points in the city. You can see all the city that way...
