Speaking as a lifetime resident, the housing market in Conyers only has tight supply if you ignore all the abandoned houses and buildings around. This just won't work unless there is A. good transit into Atlanta, and B. the local government begins cleaning up the county, which won't happen. What's particularly galling, is there is already a nice mixed-use development at Parker and Flat Shoals road that is basically vacant, both residentially and commercially. The Publix near where GA-20 and GA-138 split going south just moved to a new development and has left a 75% vacant shopping center leaving a nice big lot something could be put on. The Salem Gate shopping center at I-20 on 138 is ripe for redevelopment. The Fieldstone Plaza and old Pike's Nursery on Salem road near I-20 would also be good for this. Rockdale DOES NOT need another empty development that benefits no one!
