Well then Tiki, how have these places been able to operate in Fayette County? I don't think Fayetteville or Peachtree City allows pawn shops or quick cash loan companies? Are they licensed as jewelers?

I was saying that they don't give out loans. Giving out loans probably makes them fall under a special category. My best guess is that these gold places would fall under the same category as that old "We sell your stuff on eBay" business.

There is a titlemax in fayetteville and pawn shops in north Fayette btw. I would imagine there is a totally separate set of laws, state and local, for pawn shops.

It's a zoning thing. I don't think they can ban such businesses outright, but you can limit them by not having a zoning category that allows them. There's not tattoo parlors, for example because zoning won't allow them.

I believe that corner of Highway 85 and Kenwood Road in North Fayette is the ONLY place in the county zoned for pawn shops.

It looks totally horrible. I don't understand why Waffle House hasn't made them take it down. You can't just buy a McDonald's and use the trademark golden arches to become an "M" for whatever business you want to open there. I wish someone would remove that cancer.
Agreed. I passed it yesterday, looks horrible.
