Non-binding terms approved for new Falcons stadium deal | Atlanta Falcons

Am I the only one that does not get the outrage over "tax-payer money" being spent on the new stadium? I think the City / GWCCA is getting a great deal. The city pays ~$300 Mil from the hotel / motel tax. $700M plus any over runs from the falcons, the city owns the stadium, the Falcons cover all of the operating expenses of the stadium, the Falcons pay the city rent.

My only beef with the plan is tearing down the dome. It's a perfectly fine building with plenty of use left. There's no reason to tear it down. It can remain a solid money-maker for the state without the Falcons lease.

And what becomes then of Turner Field -- which is in fact OLYMPIC STADIUM?! Good god people this insanity has to stop!!!!

And I agree with what somebody said in an earlier thread: Until and unless the Falcons win a Super Bowl ... NO NEW STADIUM!!!! That loss to Carolina yesterday was disgraceful.

If that is the case the dome would have never been built

Then BUILD MARTA TO THEM! Sheesh... But either way, the new stadium site isn't anywhere near MARTA station so you're whole logic is messed up completely. Want to try again?

If they chose the south location it would be between the current Dome station, Five Points and the future MMPT. I would rather see the $300 million go towards transportation improvements like the BeltLine.
