Gas prices in NC (highest gas tax in the Southeast) are below $3.00/gal. In Atlanta it's $3.20- $3.60/gal. with the nation's LOWEST gas tax.

Why is corruption and lack of oversight tolerated in Georgia? Please, some of y'all with the answers, do something!

I don't know, but I definitely remember 17 years ago when I would drive to Florida I always made sure to fill up on the Georgia side of the border where gas was much cheaper.

I was just in Florida last weekend, and gas is actually slightly cheaper there than it is here. I don't think it's because they lowered their taxes, so something is up.

Well, total taxes on gasoline in aren't as low as you might think, since there are sales taxes which add to the pump price but which aren't included in many "gax tax" summaries ... many of those only included the 7.5 cent excise tax, but the actual tax on gas is much higher than that.

Got gas yesterday at Sam's Club in Alpharetta...$3.00 per gallon. Costco in Alpharetta this morning is $2.96.

Gas prices in Sandy Springs is around $3.15 to $3.39. It's always cheaper for me to get gas either at Sam's/Costco or at the Racetrac on Hwy 20 in Cumming (at Marketplace).

Don't the metro counties require some proprietary (therefore, more costly) blends of fuels as part of the Clear Air Campaign? I'm just thinking it's not necessarily an identical product you are comparing prices on across state lines.

To me it looks like gas prices are cheaper here than in NC.

Try searching Valdosta, Georgia and then Kissimmee, Florida.

How would Disney World have cheaper gas than a small Georgia border town? I'm sure they don't use the same expensive blend that we do.
