These are some cool summer camps offered at local universities. I highly advise anyone with younger children to apply for these programs. Some of them are competitive, but others are simple open enrollment summer camps. For example, Georgia's program requires PSAT/SAT scores, a transcript a short personal statement, letters of recommendation etc. Even if you're not interested in attending these schools, it'll be a great thing to put on any college app and a fun way to meet new people/do something besides watching TV all summer. The programs aren't very long. Many of these programs are student-faculty run, so your student could also speak to a current undergrad at the college and get to know what it's like to go there.

Camp topics include: pharmaceutical science, a mini-medical school course, photography, engineering, dance, art, ecology, spanish etc.

Georgia Tech's pre-college programs:

Mercer University's pre-college program:
College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences at Mercer University

While your older ones are submitting those final apps, your younger ones can begin theirs!

Happy holidays!
