What are some cool places in the area for kicking back and having a drink with more mellow Hip Hop and R&B playing in the background?

I'm thinking about something similar to Tillman's in Manhattan. I already know about the Apache Cafe, but that's something a bit different.

Tillman's NYC#

Love Tillmans...check out Cafe Circa and/or Soundtable. Both are next to the intersection of Edgewood and Boulevard

Sound Table sounds right up my alley. From a Yelp review:

Quote:
The Place:
Main floor has a bar that starts near the entrance and runs the length of the place. Plenty of space to mingle and order drinks, but it fills up quick. To the left was a small dining and lounge area that holds about 3 groups, and further back is the dance floor and DJ Booth. Cozy enough to feel intimate, but big enough to feel like a small "club." WooYeah!

The Music:
Excellent DJ. If you're into progressive house, then this is the hot spot for you. Floor starts filling around 12:30 and crowd is pumping by 1am and packed. Good energy, good crowd. WooYeah!

The Crowd:
Late 20s to Mid 30s, professional, think digital creative types. Progressive downtowners, and Buckhead types willing to slum. Fairly diverse. More grown up than MJQ, but not balling out like the Opera. Good energy, good crowd.

I think NYC, DC and ATL may be the only three cities in the country with a bar like this. I prefer the "Green Light" crowd.
