Venture capital is something that has definitely been missing from Atlanta's tech community...

"Atlanta-based Cox Enterprises, which owns The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, WSB-TV, Manheim auto auctions and Cox Communications and AutoTrader.com, said the money will be spread out over several years. But the size of the investment is substantial in a state that ranks low in investment vehicles such as venture capital, which are often critical to the launch successful technology startups..."

This has the potential to be VERY good news. In my opinion, anyway.

This is what I am excited about. I've always felt Atlanta's tech scene left a lot to be desired, this could be that spark needed for the ATL.

It's about time. Too many of the wealthy in our state are sitting pretty off of profits from downsizing, off-shoring of jobs, and the resulting weakening of the labor force's leverage.

The future needs visionaries who are able to secure the funding to research new technologies, that which can be manufactured in factories...factories that can employ many Americans again, like the old days.

I'm glad that the Cox family are stepping up to the plate. Now if only the other selfish wealthy jerks in our state will do the same...

Great to hear. More tech in Atlanta = more jobs and a solid position for the future.
