Multi-brand retailer’s flagship store coming to Atlanta spring 2013.
The 12th & Midtown development in a press release Tuesday announced Republic of Couture (ROC) will open at the Midtown Atlanta landmark mixed-use development, a $2 billion project located at Peachtree and 12th Street.

ROC is scheduled to open spring 2013 and will be located at 1075 Peachtree (Phase 2 of 12th & Midtown) in a 6,500-square-foot flagship space on Peachtree Street, according to the release.

“ROC is unlike any other store in the Atlanta market and is the perfect tenant to kick off the fashion component at 12th & Midtown,” Shirley Gouffon, senior vice president of retail leasing for 12th & Midtown and Selig Enterprises, said in the release.

“With its broad array of price points and designer collections, ROC will undoubtedly become a leading shopping destination for Atlanta’s fashion conscious.”

ROC, a multi-brand retailer offering men’s and women’s fashions, shoes and accessories, will be the first national fashion tenant to open at 12th & Midtown. The flagship Atlanta store will be the seventh location for the company, which was founded in 2002.

Linda Miller of LM Global Retail Services represented the tenant in this transaction.

200,000 square feet of retail to be added

Quote:
Retail space could more than double at the 12th & Midtown development.

As the project grows with recent and future land acquisitions, it looks to add close to 200,000 square feet of retail, said Shirley Gouffon, senior vice president of Selig Enterprises Inc. The development today has about 130,000 square feet of retail.

“It will be significant,” said Gouffon, who heads retail leasing for 12th & Midtown. “I’m very optimistic about the future. It’s not happening overnight. But, it is happening.”

12th & Midtown expansion

Quote:
In the past few months, Daniel and Selig have put about an additional 4 acres under control within a five-block radius of 12th & Midtown, including tracts along Peachtree Street, West Peachtree Street and Crescent Avenue.

They have also put offers on additional parcels around the heart of their development. They did not disclose any projected sales prices, because they are still in final negotiations.

New construction on some of the parcels could start by the end of the year, but more likely in early 2014, the developers said.
