Yes, it is. The area east of the station is very industrial, but north of the station is the Sycamore Ridge
neighborhood and to the northwest, Glennwood Estates.
The city is quite safe and on a nice day its a leisurely stroll along E Ponce de Leon or Sycamore to downtown amenities.

Whats the address? Many houses near the portion of the MARTA station south of the railroad tracks are not in the City of Decatur, but still have Decatur mailing addresses. That may or may not matter to you, but it certainly will affect price.

Just moved my sister into the Avondale Station Apts 4 blocks from the station. Its a safe area. A couple of restaurants located in the East Decatur Station development, https://maps.google.com/maps?hl=en&l...03484&t=m&z=19. The original Waffle House, now a museum, is down College Ave.

Icing on the cake - Pin Ups within walking distance.

Seriously, the area north of the station is very nice. Not sure about south, but I would imagine it is fine. Being that close to Dekalb Farmers Market would sell me on it in a heartbeat.

I lived in Clarkston for about a year and used Avondale station to get to work. It's close to downtown Decatur and looks like a nice area. I never heard any problems there.

Are kids in your future? If so, consider the school district.

Cool area, really the northern edge of Winnona Park. There are some fun places to go along that stretch of E. College.
