In a few weeks we'll be visiting the Atlanta suburbs to look for a house. Since we'll need to eat, we'd like to stop in some restaurants to get a feel for what the local people are like. We'll be driving all over, but if anyone could suggest a unique local restaurant in any of the following towns, I'd appreciate it...Woodstock, Marietta, Alpharetta, Roswell, Holly Springs, Buford, Kennesaw, Acworth, Flowery Branch. We're pretty open to most types of food, but we're not fans of sushi.
Also, if there is one downtown Atlanta restaurant that stands out as a "If you're in town you really need to go to ______", what would it be?
Marietta Diner in Marietta (Obviously) and Phish Phood Cafe in Roswell are two of my favorite places in Metro Atlanta. Phish Phood's blueberry chicken wings are absolutely amazing.

In Woodstock, I'd suggest Ipps, Pure Taqueria, or Firestone Wood Fired Pizza, all in downtown Woodstock. You can also try Winchesters in Canton on 140, just outside of Holly Springs. They recently reopened with new owners, and I hear it's excellent, though I haven't visited yet.
This is another vote for the Marrietta Diner . Though I haven't been there yet , I have a friend who is a huge fan of the place and posts beautiful pictures of the food they serve. The dessert selection looks amazing .

Not a huge fan of Firestone, but Ipps and Pure are both pretty good. They just opened another Pure in Roswell too.
