Some people in other cities like NYC, Seattle, Portland, etc complain about Yuppies moving to their city and ruining everything. Ruining everything by driving up the cost of housing, etc. I don't think this is the case for Atlanta. I think they have helped Atlanta IMO. What do you think?

I don't get why Yuppies hurt anything in the first place.

Female\Homosexual Buppies definitely set the tone from Atlantas culture. I dont think they drive up the cost of anything though, but that demographic has a high population here.

There is a portion of the population who wish to live the lifestyle of broke 20-somethings for their entire lives (while, naturally, having parents they can call for money any time they want). To these people, anyone with a career, a lawnmower, and a reliable vehicle is a yuppie.

Of course "ruining everything" is a relative term. If you can no longer afford to live in an area because prices have gone out of your reach, then it is "ruined'--if you just don't care for you new neighbors, or the new homes --ruined would probably be an overstatement. If you can afford it, and crime has gone down, schools improved, and the area has the type of home you would like to live in, it is much improved.
