My boyfriend and I will be moving to Atlanta in the next year or so. We are in our mid-20s and would like to get an apartment in a walkable part of the city with some nightlife, restaurants, and bars. We'd like if it was not too urban (meaning there are still trees, parks, etc nearby). Our budget would be roughly $800 but is flexible for a one bedroom/one bathroom apartment.

What would be the best place to look into?

midtown near piedmont park. Stretch that budget slightly higher and you're good to go

That's probably your best bet.

I just wanted to say I envy you. You must really be in love if you can live together in a 1 bedroom apartment and not kill one another!

Too right. My DH and I need that extra bedroom. Where else can I banish him when he starts to snore?

What happened to Los Feliz? I love that neighborhood. Left Atlanta for Brooklyn. I don't think you'd like Atlanta.

We love Los Feliz, also, but are moving towards getting a house and that seems impossible in California with our budget. Atlanta has a lot more options, and I also have a lot of family there. If we could find an area of Atlanta similar to Los Feliz where we could get an apartment and save up for a while for a house outside of the city, that would be great.
