Well GSU is probably getting increased competition from GGC that just opened up and quite a bit from KSU, because their academic standards are increasing rapidly.

I think many students who are looking for cheap, live at the parents house, have a job, and/or commuter lifestyles will gravitate towards the closest major universities. Alot of Gwinnettians that would have applied for GSU are also applying to GGC. Many still go to GSU for academic quality, but for some the convenience of GGC is too good to ignore.

KSU is also becoming more attractive as a traditional, destination college as well.

I wouldn't worry too much just yet, since this is probably why. I think things will level off when every school is growing at the same pace.

I don't know about that. If you're that poor(like me) you can get a waiver on college applications. I don't see why people would stop applying to GSU as they have..at the same time all the other schools saw growth. What's worse is that the enrolled students also went down in quality compared to every other school.

GGC is not stealing GSU's former top crop. North Georgia, GCSU, GA Southern...and -cringe- maybe KSU are.

Problem is there isn't equal growing. Hence, all of our threads. I guess people are starting to figure out about GSU's problems and deteriorating reputation. I'm actually really curious to see how the applicants turn out. Dichloro, your thread better be detailed.

But I don't want to derail another thread.
