Pros
- I can afford to live in a HUGE, beautiful apartment with a lake and woods in my backyard!! In NY I paid the same amount for a studio basement apartment.
- Food is cheaper, as well as other things like car insurance, ect..
- Winter is much milder..no more digging my way to my car through mounds of snow!
- Not as 'busy' and populated as some places have become on LI.. (I live in North ATL-Dunwoody)

Cons:
-BAD drivers..I mean..you want to rip your hair out with frustration!! Hardly anyone indicates, lots of people are talking on their cell phones, not even doing the speed limit, completely oblivious to the fact there are other people on the road!!

Yep, sounds like Atlanta to me. I always had a delay when ordering food or other services. And the people aren't so bright either. It's ridiculous really. We don't have all day to wait.

Well it is frustrating when people aren't doing their job or don't seem to have much common sense, but that's everywhere.

At least down here the store clerks tend to acknowledge you, greet you and maybe even .... smile. You'd be lucky to get even a grunt in NY.

I do agree about the drivers however, but live long enough in any urban area, and you will have encounters everywhere ...

As for commenting on brightness, that is a generalization for sure and needs to be qualified. There are many fine institutions and companies in the area in which one would be surrounded by bright, highly-skilled people.

Slow and polite or quick and rude/abrasive? Tough choice, but I'll take the polite person.

I personally have found new yorkers to be very nice people while visitng. Too many southerners think that moving slow means that you are nice and that isn't true.

I know, I have many friends up there. I just didn't like the poster who said that people in Atlanta were not very bright, like everyone in New York are so on top of it.

I'm not even originally from here, but I still didn't like it.

They can pound sand where the Sun don't shine for all I care. I'm sure they can do that faster than Southerners, too.

Ain't that the truth. It's not so bad in NYC but Baltimore? Goodness...the rudeness and coldness just have me ready to come back home...
