Like the title says: What's being built at Peachtree Dunwoody and Hammond? All the buildings on the east side of that corner have been demolished. It looks like it's going to be something big (I've heard it involves condos, but I don't know anything else).

Any details out there? Seems like it's flown under the radar.

There has been a rumor of an upscale mixed use type of thing happening there. But I'm not really sure.

Yeah, I haven't seen anything about it in the usual places... strange that such a big development has gone unnoticed. I'll post back if they ever put up a sign or anything.

A friend of mine who works in the Concourse says that this is a high rise condo development. If this is true I am also surprised that nothing has been reported about it. Or, if it has I missed it :-)

I searched the City of Sandy Springs website which is usually quite transparent about projects and didn't see anything at all. Is that side of Hammond in Dunwoody rather than Sandy Springs?

Maybe this?

It involves 14 acres between Abernathy Road and Mount Vernon Highway, as well as Georgia 400 and Peachtree Dunwoody Road.

Nope, that's in the same general area but in a different place.

I contacted the Sandy Springs community development department and was told that apartment projects are being developed on the northeast and southeast corners of Hammond and Peachtree Dunwoody.

High-end apartments lure new tenants - Reporter Newspapers

Quote:
Pollack Shores, which is based in Sandy Springs, in January started work on a new apartment complex that will add 341 luxury apartments at Hammond Drive and Peachtree Dunwoody Road in Sandy Springs.

Construction is scheduled to begin in the spring, with completion scheduled for 2014, Blair said. The project will create more than 300 construction jobs, he said. “When it’s completed, it’ll be contributing over $600,000 in taxes to the community,” he said.

The apartments will be part of a mixed-use development and will replace parts of the existing Hammond Center development on the south side of Hammond Drive. When complete, the new apartment complex will offer a lawn where residents can socialize, a wellness and fitness center, a yoga area and a dog spa, Blair said.

North Carolina-based apartment developer Northwood Ravin is building another new luxury apartment complex on the north side of Hammond, according to the company’s website.

The project, called Perimeter Town Center, is part of a larger, mixed-use development and will stand right across the street from Pollack Shores’ project. Northwood Ravin says its apartments will feature 10-foot ceilings, tiled backsplashes, a private central courtyard, a saltwater pool, a fitness center and, of course, a pet grooming center.

If so...way to go, Perimeter! Hard to imagine this flew under the radar so much.

And here's a render for the one across the street:
