Either way, overall most of Georgia's ticketing fees are CHEAP compared with some other states.

Traffic fines in Georgia are low when compared with many other states.

No. Not true. As far as the Ga State Patrol, they will not even bother you if you are under 95 MPH. Some of the local cops have speed traps here and there but not too many.

Should be $1,000 to cut down on the number of dry pavement car accidents that result in my commute doubling because of people following too closely.

When I was studying for driver's test umteen years ago , I remember reading in the driver's manual that drivers should stay 3 car lengths behind the car in front of them. Humph, you try doing that now, about 3 cars will get in between you and the other car!
I don't know if that's still in the driver's manual, but, I've only lived here in Georgia and got my license in Georgia, so, I guess when the cops want to, they can give you a ticket...they are trying to meet quotas...just like the "window tint" thing; if your tint is darker than 32%, they will give you a ticket, even if you've been riding around with dark tint for a couple of years.

22 over in a school zone...you're lucky to still be driving in some areas...when I lived in NC, that was considered reckless driving. If you speed everywhere else(like most of us do), slow down in a school zone...sometimes that crossing guard is an off-duty LEO.

I drive less than eight (8) miles each way to work, and yet there are days when I see two or three active speed traps along the E/W Connector and Cumberland Parkway.
Then again, this is the Cobb County police we're talking about.

The wife got one
She was stopped in traffic and was shoved into a school bus by the woman behind her who acknowledged she shoved my wife into the bus. . The bus was stopped at a traffic light so no way she was following anything. She was stopped! The policemen said he was obliged to write a citation but the judge would probably let her off. Went to court today, she plead not guilty and now has to wait for a court date. Is this justice. Took half of the day to do this because she refuses to plead guilty when she isn't.

I don't muck around with school zones. I learned how to drive in new york city, I can drive atlanta with one eye closed and the other eye focused on texting my girlfriend . I've grown up a lot since, you know what I Do when I get to a school zone (I live a half mile from an elementary school and kids are walkin around, not interested in hitting one. Six year olds generally lack common sense and depth perception, so its my responsibility to watch out), I pop down into second gear and I drive 25 mph. I get fingers from the guy behind me, that's nice of him. I have middle fingers too. Two of them.
For the following too closely crowd - I noticed that first when I moved here 8 years ago. 9 years ago I rear ended someone - since then I keep the 2 second distance. When someone sneaks in front of my I pop from fourth to third and cruise and open it up. I refuse to follow anyone close enough that I get into an accident when the car four cars in front loses a tire or something. An extra 45 seconds to my commute wouldn't kill me.
Yea....this comes from the guy who routinely drives at triple digits on early sunday mornings for pleasure. Time and place for everything.
