Default Cost of Utilities in Atlanta

About how much are utilities in Atlanta?

I found the apartments below, but am not sure what my cost of living would be since I don't have an idea of what the utilities would cost.

Thanks!

Try to find an unit that only has electric. Atlanta gas company will charge 20 dollar a month whether or not you use anything.

I think that electric/gas price range widely. I used to rent in a four year old two bedroom apartment. It only costs about $50 electric (no gas bill since it was all electric unit). Not sure about older unit.

stay away from gas...a friend of mine almost rented one half of a duplex-one side had electric heating (the one the owner lived in) and the other had gas for heat. The electric heat bill was 100 dollars per month...the gas side averaged over 300 the previous winter!
I live in a newer apartment complex with all electric utilities and until this summer my bill was never more than 55 dollars and usually under 40. In August (when mother nature tried to MELT me) it was $67.

So, electric will probaby be $100 or less per month? What about water? Are there any utilities I'm forgetting? Trash maybe?

Depends on the size of the place and what kind of unit you have. I have a triple unit and 2000 sq feet. My unit is an AC- Heat Pump- Furnace. Last summer, which was hotter than hell and much hotter than usual and my highest bill was $272 electric. In the winter, my bills are in the $158 range for electric and, unless it gets really cold (below 25 degrees or so) and the heat pump kicks on the gas furnace, the gas bill is usually about $50 or so. Last winter though it only kicked into gas twice. And we live in s single family house with all walls exposed outside. An apartment should be cheaper. My water bill- with 4 family members is around $100 a month and what you pay for trach depends on where you live. Some places the city does trash and doesn't charge separate. Other places like Douglasville you have to buy "city trash bags" from the store which pays for the service and still others are totally private and you have to get BFI or some other service you choose.
