Default Dog owners in Roswell/Alpharetta?

I posted awhile back asking for vet recommendations in Roswell/Alpharetta, but didn't get one response. I see a lot of dogs around here, so I know some of you own dogs--where do you take them to the vet? If no one is that thrilled with their vet, can anyone at least warn about bad experiences? Is there any place I should avoid?

Kudzu.com has a lot of suspicious posts. Several for Chattahoochee Animal Hospital look faked. I am also tired of reading reading reviews of vets which go on at length to say how the staff are kind and sympathetic. My eight-year-old neighbor is also kind and sympathetic. I am looking for a vet that is a superb diagnostician and surgeon. I want a vet that is well-equipped and has hospital facilities for serious illnesses. My last animal hospital (in KY) also would take emergencies, and had a vet on call every night and on days the hospital was closed. I am struggling to find this here.

Recommendations, anyone?

Default recommendation

The vet we had in Atlanta was great. As a matter of fact the last thing we did before we moved to NH in July was take our dogs in for shots and checkups, not knowing how long it would take us to find another vet.

He's in Forsyth County off 400 (exit 13). A short drive from Alpharetta. I HIGHLY recommend him. He'd be worth the trip from anywhere in Atlanta. I have his info if you'd like to PM for it. You'll be really happy with him.

We've tried three vets so far in Alpharetta. No horror stories, just little issues that would keep me from making a recommendation. One doesn't take appointments, one has high turnover, and another always manages to pad the bill as much as possible. I would also like to hear a heartfelt recommendation, but I can't give one.

Our friend Tom owns this shop in Alpharetta: Welcome To Baths & Bones!

I'm sure he can tell you the best vets for your dog on that side of town.

I can tell you the best vet in Gwinnett.

I appreciate the feedback!

I get the impression that Roswell/Alpharetta is full of so-so vets. I am considering Pets Are People Too because they offer seven day service, although the name is so silly it makes me think they are not serious about their work. They seem adequately equipped, anyways, and there is more than one vet.

I really was hoping for a vet within a 20-minute drive. I hate to add the stress of traffic to an illness or injury.

Well, we've decided to stick with Crabapple Knoll Clinic. I just make sure to tell them exactly what I am coming in for, so that I don't end up paying for unnecessary tests. The vets seem competent and kind, and right down the street is the Crabapple Animal Hospital for emergencies.

We use Mountain Park Plaza Animal Hospital and it's pretty much the same story as mentioned in previous posts. I think the vet is OK, but I haven't been overwhelmingly thrilled, and it seems expensive there. I'd like to find a vet less locked into annual vaccinations. So I too am reading this thread with interest, hoping to find a report of a wonderful vet in the Roswell area.
