Smile Where in Kennesaw is best?

I just read that Kennesaw was voted the best tof top ten towns in AMERICA to raise a family in, It has low crime, good schools and affordable homes, but all areas have that bad area, that we want to avoid, so can anyone suggest a nice neighborhood where we can rent a home that has swimming and tennis and the best school district? Rent has to be in the ballpark of 1500 a month or less...willing to pay more for SAFE area with above average schools.
Only kind hearted answers please!

I don't know where you are locating from, but addresses, cities, and towns work differently in Metro Atlanta+Georgia compared to the rest of the country. When one says Kennesaw, there is the official city of Kennesaw...an incorporated town with defined city limits, city council, police department, etc. But...many addresses not in incorporated Kennesaw have a Kennesaw address (actually way more than inside the city limits). Unincorporated Kennesaw addresses stretch from the western edges of East Cobb, west through north Cobb County, then south through West Cobb until Dallas Highway.

The unincorporated address problem we have in Metro Atlanta is a relic from the way addresses were done when all of these areas were rural countryside (a farm having the address of the closest town/post office). Georgia's outdated annexation/incorporation/municipal laws were never updated to handle a growing metro area.

Anyway...I'll include all of the Kennesaw addresses as I give my recommendations to you.

Recommendations:
Chestnut Hill (address maybe Acworth but is actually closer to Kennesaw). Swim/Tennis. Kell High School.

Pinetree Country Club. Right next to Kennesaw State University. North Cobb High School.

Legacy Park. Master Planned Community. North Cobb High School.

Chastain Lakes. Swim/Tennis. Kell High School.

*all of the aforementioned neighborhoods/subdivisions have swim/tennis, are in excellent school districts, and are very convenient to lots of amenities (Town Center Mall, I-75, I-575, Lake Allatoona, KSU, quaint downtown Kennesaw, quaint downtown Acworth).

I hope this helps. Good Luck!

As long as you're not in North Cobb district.... and I went there, '96, my father went there '67. No one in our family is looking to send our kids there and we still live here.

The North Cobb High School district is good. It has strong community support and a strong Social Science/International Studies magnet program (its Social Science magnet might be the only one in the State). The North Cobb High District will serve you well.

I forgot to mention a few more communities in the Kennesaw address area:

Kingswood (off of Shallowford Rd and Hawkins Store Rd.). Kell High School. Swim/Tennis. You should find some great deals in this neighborhood!

Lake Latimer. Swim/Tennis. Kell High School

Thornwood. Swim/Tennis. Kell High School

Shallowford Road Corridor (between Canton Hwy and Bells Ferry Rd.). Lots of smaller subdivisions, some of which are Swim/Tennis. Kell High School.

New Chastain Rd. Corridor. Several neighborhoods, most with "Chastain" in the name. Swim/Tennis. You should find some really great deals. Sprayberry High School (Sprayberry is very good...Cobb County's best kept secret!).

I would also suggest Cambridge Grove subdivision on North Booth Road between Bell's Ferry and Shiloh Road. It situated between Chalker Elementary and Palmer Middle School in the Kell HS district. Three and Four Bedroom homes for $175k-$190k in a swim/tennis community.

The website is Cambridge Grove website

I use to make this commute pretty much everyday 3 years ago and it was between 30-45 minutes if you left between 7:30a-9a. It could be a little longer now because we all know that traffic isn't getting any better.
