To simplify -- just stay North of the airforce base or otherwise you'll want to be East of 75.
I agree. I use to stay over there and my Hond agot stolen.

It all depends where you are going to work at. The daily commute is horrible to and from Kennesaw. The part of Marietta you want to be in is the East Cobb part-the schools are excellent!

FWIW -- there really isn't very much of the actual Marietta city limits located NE of I-75, though much of that area claims a Marietta mailing address.

Yes, there is...a lot of those relatively new subdivisions off of Allgood, Scufflegrit, Sandy Plains, and Barnes Mill Roads are in the Marietta City Limits: East Worthington, East Park, The "Camerons", Briarwood, Stone Gate, Brentwood, Eagle Ridge, etc.

Take a look at a map. A lot of people don't realize it...they think the aforementioned neighborhoods go to the Sprayberry (or Wheeler) cluster schools...but they in fact attend Marietta High and Sawyer Road or Lockheed Elementary Schools.

Vegas Nights is a bit farther South but not too far away.

Along with getting nicer North of the base, things also start getting nicer a couple blocks into Smyrna to the South.

There isn't much compared to the West of the highway, but I'd still peg it as being at least 5 square miles (looking at GIS). Interestingly, according to Cobb County GIS, South Cobb Drive and Atlanta Rd West of the base isn't truly Marietta and I thought it was (though West of South Cobb Dr is Marietta as you get closer to Powder Springs Street). Southwest of there is unincorporated Milford, but I wonder what the area directly to the West of the base is considered (like Old Concord Rd after it leaves Smyrna). Well, anyway, I learn something new every day.

Right, to the area to the East of Dobbins AFB, and directly to the West of Dobbins (though I guess most of that isn't Marietta but unincorporated). None of Kennesaw is bad. There are small parts of Kenessaw that are industrial and aren't the prettiest (industrial never is), but nothing bad as far as residential is concerned.

See for yourself. The blue bits are Marietta.

It really doesn't cover much area NE of 75 unless they've been annexing land very recently.

Although I guess it's all relative. As Netdragon says, it's five square miles. That's not small potatos. Except when compared to the rest of Marietta.
