Default BEST AREA FOR FAMILY - moving from SLC

We are considering moving to the Atlanta area. We have 4 kids so great public schools are the priority. We want to purchase a house paying around 250k and would prefer a newer home. My husband works from home but has to travel often through ATL int'l. So commute is not really an issue. So what are good areas for our situation?

I would recommend Northeast of the city in the Grayson, Loganville, Dacula area. You can get a new home in your price range. Excelent public schools, short commute to airport.. What is your timeframe for moving..

I'm new to this forum, but wondered if you'd sold your home in Utah yet. I actually live in the Brookwood cluster (great academics and athletics), and I have a home for sale somewhat in your price range.

We live in the north Cobb County area (Kennesaw / Acworth.) We are @ 10 minutes off I75.

We have been pleased with the schools and the drive to the airport is not that bad.

The Suwanee area is very nice. It is northeast of the city. Your husband could take I-85 to the airport.

Suwanee was chosen as one of the top ten places to live in the country. The schools are great and encourage family involvement. The crime rate is low and I feel very safe here. Housing is still affordable and home prices are holding steady, even in this market. There are lots of activities for children and families. There is a town green with a seasonal farmers market, lots of places to eat, and there are two malls within a 10-15 minute drive.
