Default most accurate online traffic source?

What website do you think provides the most accurate traffic info for Atlanta? I've been using AJC Traffic and Traffic dot com. Traffic dot com has more info (avg speed, delay time, etc), but not sure how accurate it is. Both sites often have differing information for the exact same roads.
Any comments on these or other sites?

AM 750 is your best traffic source if you can stand to listen to Sean Hannity whine and ***** about Hillary while waiting for the "triple team traffic" every 5 minutes. If you don't want to hear Hannity's bullcrap and you have Sirius, channle 153 has traffic and weather every 4 minutes and it is pretty accurate and up to date as well.

I also like the GA Navigator, but if you drive often you should consider getting a Garmin GPS with a traffic module.

I have a Nuvi 350. The traffic module is real time and has saved my tail from being stuck in accidents, providing good detours around the affected area.

Do you have to pay a monthly fee for that traffic signal to reach the receiver?

I know that for a while it was only offered in L.A., San Fran and I think New York, so I guess it's been expanded to cover Atlanta now. Have you found yet that it's ever been inaccurate, or leaves out info or takes too long to update?

I use a Garmin GTM-12 FM Traffic Receiver.
Here's the service: Garmin | FM TMC Traffic
Here's the service cost: Total Traffic Network from Clear Channel - one year subscription = $60.00

Here's a review of the traffic module: Amazon.com: Garmin GTM-12 FM Traffic Receiver for Traffic-Enabled GPS Navigators: Electronics

By Atlanta Adjunct (Avondale Estates, GA USA) - See all my reviews

Like the previous reviewer, I also live in Atlanta. Traffic can be a nightmare here, so I had high hopes for this add-on to my Nuvi 360.

Everyday between 3:00pm and 7:00pm, my Nuvi constantly tells me "TRAFFIC AHEAD", which is handy. But everyone in Atlanta knows that there's always traffic ahead in the afternoon in Atlanta. Checking the GPS screen reveals such info as "accumulating traffic" and "slow traffic" - true, but not terribly helpful in a city where this is always true. The Nuvi offers to route me away from the expressway, but I guess I'd do that anyway without the warning. It's more useful on late nights and weekends when unusual traffic events take place.

I find the service reasonably accurate for the most part, but I sometimes find that it reports outdated information (cleared accidents, etc), and the information is generally vague ("accumulating traffic", "slow traffic", etc.)

The traffic receiver is novel and kinda cool, but it really doesn't save me much time or provide much information I didn't already know from regular, daily traffic patterns. If the service were updated more promptly and provided more detailed information, it would be more useful.

Update Jan 26, 2007: I've been paying attention, and the detail provided by the traffic add-on seems to be improving. I'm noticing more information on accidents and incidents, rather than the vague 'slow' and 'accumulating' messages I'd seen for the past few months. Perhaps it's a coincidence, but my opinion of the service is improving.
When I moved from Atlanta, I noticed that the traffic warning were not as good in Austin, so I dropped the service.

I hope this helps.

The psychology or psyco value of driving in rush hour traffic with sharp, highly colored Ads on my PT CRUISER or VAN with a very dazzling and very simple to recall website. Has anyone had any experience in this technique? I wonder how many people would SEE me --say between 7:30am -8:30am-- inbound on I-85 from the Buford (Mall of Georgia) into Atlanta ? Anyone know how I can get the average numerical Volume of daily rush hour traffic INBOUND AM and OUTBOUND PM ?

Hi Y'all-

May I suggest that you go to Public Broadcasting Atlanta - Atlanta’s NPR and PBS Stations, WABE 90.1FM and PBA 30 and sign for for customized traffic reprots that can be sent directly to your wireless? Just pick out the routes you need and your "Jam Factor"- pain threshhold for traffic jams- and you will get updated emails. Very cool.

Default iPhone maps

Go to Google maps on your iPhone while in your car. Select "show traffic" after clicking the right side eye icon and your map will show you green, yellow or red pulled from the Georgia Navigator data. If you click the left eye, it will plot your current location based on cell towers.
