Hey, I was wondering where you can find a lot of Jewish people in the metro. What places are growing Jewish areas? Thanks!

I think the Sandy Springs area has a sizeable Jewish population, many living within walking distance of temple.

Worth noting, is that there have been a few recent incidents of harassment of Jewish folks in the area, and it appears to be related. One man reports that a guy in a red pickup assaulted him with the truck, knocking him to the ground. The guy then knocked off the man's kippah, kicked it, and made some anti-Jewish comments. Others in the area have also mentioned having to dodge some guy in a red pickup.

That aside, the Jewish community seems to be sizeable enough that it's still very well respected.

I don't know of any jewish communities on the south side but I live near emory and there is a large jewish community just north of the University. I don't know how it stacks up against the Sandy Springs one though.

The Toco Hills area off of LaVista and N. Druid Hills has the largest jewish population. Many kosher restaurants and butchers. The publix and kroger over there have kosher meat and kosher bakeries. That area has the more orthodox population.

The sandy springs area is also heavily populated, as well as dunwoody. The JCC is over that way.

Toco Hills, some parts of Buckhead, and Sandy Springs have your more traditional Jewish families - Dunwoody has been referred to by some as the "new age" Jewish area - those who are not quite strict, but still consider themselves Jewish, etc.

For reference:

Downtown Atlanta - mixed.

Buckhead - mixed.

South and West Atlanta - black. East Atlanta - mixed, leaning toward black.

Chamblee/Doraville - Hispanic & Asian.

Midtown - upper income gay. Cheshire Bridge Road area of Midtown - mid income gay and some Jewish.

Dunwoody - yuppie, Jewish, Baptist mix.

That website must have made a mistake. I personally know several people who follow the jewish faith and live in Dekalb county. Also if you drive through the Toco Hills/North Druid Hills neighborhoods in Dekalb it is clear there is a large jewish population in the area.
