Well, the state senator who represents Midtown and Buckhead is backing him up. So I wouldn't treat this as trivial.

This guy is probably pro Atlanta Housewives and all of the other cockamamie shows that we across the nation LOVE to watch, laud, DVR, etc. What a waste of time and energy.

That raises an interesting idea for a new Atlanta-based reality show: "Real Generals of the Civil War meet the Real Housewives of Atlanta."

Episode 1: Nene gives Robert E. Lee a piece of her mind about his practice of riding his horse all over the place and and addressing everyone as "Suh." Stonewall Jackson retains Phaedra to help roll out his new Catfish & Cornbread casual dining concept, while Kim comes out of retirement to hook up with the mysterious "Mr. President", played by Jefferson Davis.

Probably shouldn't have been done to that natural wonder in the first place.

They could plaster over the faces and replace them with Rosa Parks, MLK, and Malcolm X.

But to just remove it would leave an ugly gash in the side of the mountain.

Just like the Taliban in Afghanistan destroyed the Bhuddist statues?

Can't ...tell ...if ...serious.

Anyone who thinks it should be removed... African American, Caucasian, Native American, purple ...is not thinking correctly. Perhaps we'll just stop teaching about the civil war in middle schools books.

Had no issue changing the state flag, but this is on a whole different level.

I suppose if I were African American, and I can't pretend to walk in those shoes, I would find it offensive if I thought of it as a glorification of the men on the mountain and what they stood/fought for. Which I'm sure was its original purpose. However, now that big hunk of rock is part of history.

All this is, is a "look at me" campaign.
