The aquarium is packed to the gills (ahem) every single day of the week ... and those are obviously not all locals, but many out-of-towners. If only a very small percentage of those people crossed the park and rode the wheel, it will be fine.
I think it's missed that I want the ferris wheel to be successful and remain. I like the thing.
If it helps, I will no longer post what *I* see everyday... like from this walk I took 5 minutes ago on an 80-degree, sunny, early fall, early afternoon. The ferris wheel was revolving.

I know there are peak periods, that's why I initially mentioned averages.
I mean, it iss a weekday afternoon. Most people gotta work and go home, plus many people go at night because they like the night views.
This isn't London. It's nowhere near as famous, nor do you have crowds of people around. It's fine...it gets very crowded on weekend nights. Just the weekend before the last, I was there on a Saturday night and that whole block and the park was very crowded.

No, that's all good info! it's valuable to get these "eye witness reports" from people like you who are actually in a position to see what's happening. I hope it succeeds too, but it looks like interest has fallen off significantly since the opening weeks.

Reason: wording change
Not original. So what do you propose? Is someone supposed to come up with an idea that nobody has ever imagined and expect it to be a positive addition to the city? And then nobody else is ever alowed to copy it elsewhere because then they're "not original"?
How bizarre can you get?
It's like us copying the space needle from Seattle. That's my point. And you are missing my bigger point: In my opinion, I think it looks ugly. What's not to get about that?

I don't agree with your space needle comparison. That is a one of a kind structure that, even if it disappeared today, will be forever associated with Seattle. It would be very crass for Atlanta to copy that, but that isn't what has been done. Ferris wheels are everywhere. They're a universally known item, so we haven't copied anyone. I get that you think it's ugly, but so what?
Just took a vine(bad quality though) of the ferris wheel at night. It gets a good crowd and I'm sure wait times are probably around 15-20 minutes. I think more people like to go at night due to the views of the city at night.
Just checked it out for the first time tonight after leaving the Tabernacle.
Was pretty fun, got to go around 5 times.
