I've lived in Ormewood Park and East Atlanta (East Atlanta Village) for the past 11 years. They've been "up and coming" for years and years. This summer there has been a bad rash of crime -- teens skipping school and kicking in the back doors of homes while people are at work. They're after plasma screen tvs apparently. If it wasn't for the crime Grant Park, Ormewood and East Atlanta would be really awesome. I'm getting a bit over it right now and we're thinking about finally moving. If you want to be an urban pioneer, this is a good place. It's very dog friendly. There are plenty of parks to walk your dog. Tons of people around the village have dogs. There's lots to do here too -- galleries, bars, restaurants -- all in walking distance. There's lots of families too. I really love all the neighbors. It's a great sense of community that I haven't felt living in any other part of Atlanta -- even in other intown neighborhoods.

sunnygt is on a distinguished road
I went on the home search yesterday and found a few great homes in EAV and Ormewood. I really like both the areas and Have tons of friends nearby. Hopefully I will find exactly what I want/need.
