windward parkway to kimberly clark - commute
Hello all,
Still trying to nail down a potential area to purchase a home... (Great feedback from you this board in the past.) Our Realtor sent us a couple homes located in Crooked Creek CC area. We are also looking in Brookfield CC as a frame of reference for my question. (just FYI, looking for homes under $550k - would prefer around $450 )
Based on commute time to Kimberly Clark (Holcomb Bridge Road, just off 400), would this area be worth considering? Or, should we focus on areas closer in to Roswell.
By the way, I'm currently in Washington, so I haven't had the luxury of exploring areas for myself, so your opinions will be very helpful once we do actually get there and start looking in earnest. (1 1/2 weeks to go)
Thanks in advance for your opinions.

We looked at bridgetowne subdivision in cumming. Liked the area, and I think it's not very far from winward parkway.

Try the area around Old Alabama- subdivisions like Spring Ridge, Willow Springs, Chartwell, Bridge Water( off Brumbelow Rd), Foxworth, The Falls at Autry Mill.
And there are a few off of Waters RD.- Dunmoor, Warrenton, and Hampton Hall.
Off of Kimball Bridge Rd- Kimball Farms, Glen Abbey, Tuxford. I'm sure you can find your price point in just about everyone of these s/dv.
I prefer this side of 400. It has a more residential feel than the westside. And if you were on this side, and somewhere along the Old Alabama corridor your commute would be everyone's envy.
Good Luck- if you need any other info, send private message/ email

Thanks to both of you for the replies... In the past 4 hours I've managed to secure a rental home till ours sells. We are going to be in the Brookfield CC community.
Hopefully, the commute won't be too much of a killer, but either way I guess it's a done deal now .
Thanks again for your input.

That commute will take you through one of the busiest intersections in the metro area. I believe they now have red-light cameras there...not that you would run a light BUT the Roswell POlice are known for a quick pen when it comes to traffic tickets(not necessarily a bad thing given the traffic up there). I speak of Hwy 9(Alpharetta Hwy) & Holcomb Bridge. The interchange with Hwy 400 is one of the busiest, also. The rental may prove to be the best way to get a true feel for the area. Good luck with the move.

I live in the Bridgetowne subdivision. It is a very nice, family friendly and quiet neighborhood. There is a large pool with "mushroom" fountains, a playground and four tennis courts. Also, we have sidewalks! A luxury in Georgia! lol ... best wishes on your search! (You'll also find homes are probably less expensive out here than the east coast ... we were shocked! ) ;-)
