Hey Everyone

We are looking for a 3 bed apartment on I -75/I-285 or I-285/GA-400. Me and another friend work in Alpharetta and the third one will be going to Gatech. So we thought this would be an ideal spot for everyone. Right now me and another friend(who will be moving as well) live in Alpharetta and our apartment is pretty close to office. But we want to move in with our friend who goes to Gatech.

We looked a couple of places like Post Crest, Gables Mill and our still looking. But if you guys have any other preference and suggestion please chip in. We are looking for a safe neighborhood and expecting the rent around $1200 - $1500.

Any input will be helpful. Thanks in Advance.

I would look near Dunwoody... closer to North Springs station or the town center. It will be easier on you guys to get on GA 400 north to Alpharetta and easy for the GATech guy hop on MARTA

Thanks for the reply.

But the third roommate studies at Gatech. So he might be staying late at the university. So MARTA wont be an option in this case. And I have heard that GA 400 South is pretty busy during rush hour.

It is, but so is I-75 south in the morning/north in the afternoon. I-285 east west to get over to 400 north can also be bad in the mornings and afternoons and it is always slow getting on and off 400 to I-285. Dunwoody/Sandy Springs is probably your best bet.

MARTA runs until 1am.

You should look at places on or near the Sydney Marcus/Lindbergh area. Easy access to GA-400 and I-85. Fairly quick access to I-75 and you would be just a few minutes from GaTech.

If that is too far a commute for the two of you living in Alpharetta then there are options on 285, many just east of Perimeter center.... but this might end up being a non-ideal situation for everyone involved since traffic can get snarled very quickly on the insular surface streets in that area.

There isn't really a good compromise. Rush hour easily doubles commuting times along that route. Someone is going to end up with a 30 min commute and having to pay the toll

Actually it's November 2013. Traffic will still be a problem though.

Thanks everyone for the suggestion.

We selected a place on Exit 22 Interstate 285. My roommate is commuting from our new apartment and he said it takes 20 minutes to drive from our new apartment to Alpharetta. He leaves for work at 7:40 am - 7:50 am. So I think it is manageable.

Plus we are now looking to sub-lease our old apartment as the leasing office said we had to give a 60 days notice. We told them at the very beginning that we won't be extending our lease. But now they are saying you should have given in writing. So we have to sublease the old apartment till September.

They always say that. Its an old trick that a lot of apartment complexes use. Personally, I would stiff them. You gave them notice... it is their fault that they didn't write it down.
