Any good churches or clubs in Marietta? (Atlanta: work, home)

Hello everyone,
I'm going to be visiting Atlanta this weekend and need to know of any good black churches in Marietta(Windy Hill road area) and a good nightclub to go to. My birthday is Sunday and I want to do something really nice. Thanks!

You should vist Destiny Metropolitan Worship. It's a "contemporary" church with primarily younger worshipers and it's right off Windy Hill Rd. My 22 year-old sister is a member and she loves it. She hits the club Saturday night and conveniently they have a 2pm service on Sundays.

As far as clubs go, sorry but I can't help you there. I just moved here from NJ and haven't been out once, although I need to.

But that's exactly what you are doing.

To the original poster, Turner Chapel AME is a pretty nice church in Marietta. I know several people who attend.

Kayrob I guess you're confused too. If you can say that you must do the same thing. Why play with God like that? God is not a part time God.You might as well go and serve the devil full time and then come to Him when you want to serve Him fully don't cha think? CAN I GET A WITNESS UP N HURR?

Nope. I don't work in a restaurant so I don't serve anyone. And my clubs days are way behind me. Not here for a debate.

I'm just not down with the sanctimonious, high and mighty stuff. The last thing I would do is to place regular church-goers on any sort of pedestal. Nor those holding positions of authority within a church.
Conversely I'm not going to paint those who like to go out and have a good time on occasion as some devil-worshipping heathen.

I've never personally known a person who was openly atheist but if I did I would view them no differently as a person and human being than someone who might spend 8 hours in church every Sunday. Because for each its nothing but a choice in my mind.

And like you maybe these are things I should keep to myself but sometimes I just feel compelled to speak out. Even if its in a controversial manner. Got no problem with religion or outwardly religious type people. Only when they try to put themselves above those who don't think or live like they do or how they think we're supposed to live our own individual lives.

[B[/b]I don't want to argue religion neither.No sweety you don't have to put me or no one else on a pedestal who serves God. He's the one not us. And the spirit of God lives within a person not just by going to church, as you say, 8 hours on Sundays. I'm quite sure whom ever ask that question at the beginning of the post loves God in their own way. I only felt that putting clubs and serving God in the same question seemed degrading to God to me. When I think of God I just can't think of going to a club afterwards. The same thing I can do in a club after church I can do while I serve Him at home. I have a music system, three shots of welches grape juice on ice.I can dance, conversate, and get crunk with my friend Jesus all night long. Andddddd won't even wake up hung over. Thats the only high I can get and still feel refreshed and ready to roll the next day. Thats all I'M saying. You don't have to agree, just my opinion::
