Northwest of Atlanta, about 80 miles as the crow flies, the Roper Corporation, has invested 80 million to enlarge it's plant to build more and fancier cooking ranges. They are now in the process of hiring new workers.
What's going on in the marketplace to make this happen?

For those that dont want to take a hit, but still have cash, remodeling has been a favorite...and it is still picking up pace.

Just be thankful that a turnaround in the economy is being felt at the local level and that there are still some industries that believe that manufacturing is still a profitable endeavor this side of the border.

...My guess is a resurgence in the real estate market with lots more homes being bought and sold.

It's been in the news as of late with the resurgence in the real estate market continuing to pick up steam and home inventories running low in Metro Atlanta.

Demand for appliances is picking up because demand for the residential dwellings that the appliances go into is picking up.
