The way the new CFHOF is to work, is the visitor is to select their favorite team and some of the exhibits will be tailored towards the visitors selected team. This includes D2 and D3 schools.

The two aren't mutually exclusive.

You realize the actual Black College Football Hall of Fame is based in Atlanta too, right? Plus, where did you read/hear that HBCU players/programs won't get included in this Hall of Fame?

You mean like the Martin Luther King Center? What a one-hit wonder that was! Oh wait...

Just curious: how long have you lived in Atlanta, or the Southeast for that matter? Any chance you've seen a college football car tag or sticker, or anyone wearing college football merchandise around the city? I prefer pro sports myself, but even I know better than to question interest in college football here. I hope you're just trolling, because you're starting to sound like a tourist.

Right because not everyone likes Nascar and College Football. They are better off making it the ATLANTA College football hall of fame or the Atlanta Sports Museum...meh

BlackPeach2 is literally retarded and/or trolling, I wouldn't even answer his/her responses.

No one who lives in Atlanta, or has any grasp on reality, would honestly say, without the intent to troll, that college football isn't big nor would the hall of fame draw.

I'm not even sure where to start from all your postings....

Whats the point? That is so incredibly narrow-minded and anti-diverse. The world does not revolve around you and what you want.

-The world does not revolve around HBCUs. In this case not many have strong college football programs, however the museum isn't to revolve around race in general...simply the sport. College football is actually really popular in this country and museums aren't designed to cater solely to your taste...

-This project is happening, it isn't dead, and it has funding. Ground has been broken.

-College football has a -HUGE- fan base. Many of the largest stadiums in the country are college football stadiums.

Ok, I'm going to throw you a bone and give you a quick marketing lesson. This will also explain why Atlanta has been so successful with museums.

These museums can't sustain themselves from Atlantans or Georgians alone...by a long shot. This includes the aquarium, the ferris wheel, and the world of Coke. They need a constant flow of visitors from all over. People who have downtown, looking to be entertained, and will likely only visit once. This is why they are clustered between one of the world's largest merchandise/trade show exhibition spaces and the GWCC. Atlanta also has the 3rd largest concentration of hotel rooms in the country, because of these industries.

So if you made it an Atlanta sports museum, it would be the biggest flop ever. Only a few outsiders who visit Atlanta would care, however college football is very pervasive and popular throughout our country.

To tie this back to the original topic... This is what Charlotte leaders botched on their attendance estimations. They never had the visitors to support that size museum...yet. The very leaders that pushed for this admitted to their local press a few years after, that they didn't research those estimates appropriately.

Not everyone likes College Football!!!! Did you seriously say that lol. Do you not see the Profits College football brings in? Also some of thew biggest stadiums are College football stadiums. College football is much more cutthroat and competitive than the NFL.

Right. That's why they're not building it to handle 7.1 billion visitors.
