We currently live in Pittsburgh PA and my husband has the opportunity to grow within his company and move to Atlanta. We would love any suggestions!

1. Budget: No stinking clue. We expect that it will be somewhere between 1,000 and 1,500. Considering buying within 1 year of moving.
2. House/Condo/Townhome? House or townhome. We want to have a yard even if its small.
3. Employment Status(commute/work from home) Husband office will be in Druid Hills, my main office will be downtown but traveling to clients.
4. Children(public school vs. private) 1 boy in elementary school. Definitely considering private or charter programs.
5. Suburban or Urban lifestyle preference or a mix of the two. Definitely want a mix of suburban and urban. We like the city - my only requirement - a yard.
6. Easy access to public transit, important or not? It would be nice, not the most important.
7. Preferable demographics of desired neighborhood. Professionals/young families. We would like to be close to young families (mid 20s - mid 30s) but we are not the intense party types. We love to get together and have drinks and cook out, but not out all night types. In Pittsburgh, we don't really have an area like this, and right now we live around lots of grandparents and older parents. Quite boring!

What will your budget be when you decide to buy? It would be great if you could rent in the same school district that you eventually buy in so your son can stay at the same school.

Right now we are expecting about 200K, but it could go up to 300K once we have another year with our jobs, and finances get better. Based on the current market we see a lot of options, just not sure what are is the best for us.
