Hey gang,

looking for some info. on the 30013 area of Conyers, near McDonough Hwy.

I was there for just a day last week, and got the chance to look at a few subdivisions in that area.

McDonough Hwy. has pretty much everything we need on that one stretch, but how safe is the general area?

Oh, also, we're DINK.

Thank you!

Out of curiosity, I have a question: What attracted you to Conyers?...What makes Conyers more attractive to you than any other Atlanta-area neighborhood or suburb?

l was actually looking some housing east of Atlanta. I lived in Stone Mtn. in the early-mid 2000's, but I don't have a good feeling about alot the area today. Same with Lithonia and Ellenwood. That area of Conyers I'm asking about seemed quieter and safer to me, and it's not TOO far from Stonecrest Mall. The housing stock is more to my liking also. Lots of 3-4 sided brick homes for reasonable prices ($160k-ish).

I'm somewhat skeptical, as I feel I haven't found the catch about the area yet. Maybe someone can recommend some relatively safe and quiet areas of Lithonia with 3-4 sided brick homes around $150-170K.

Thanks!

Well Conyers is either ok, or bad, but not good anymore. 30013 is the better side, but there are still some bad pockets that you probably wouldn't know about until you've moved in. Also, if you're commuting to Atlanta, at the very least you should really look toward moving closer to I-20, or better yet, much closer to Atlanta, traffic is a complete nightmare, with no real transit and no backroads.
