Here is the weather snap shot. It could change to rain on those days but do the temps seem correct?

Atlanta: Oct. 3rd-7th

Considering forecasts are rarely right even 3 days ahead I wouldn't pay much attention to that one. What do you mean by "correct?" If you just mean average, then yes. The averages are on the image you posted so that's sort of obvious.

Seems perfectly normal to me.

I wore shorts well into November last year.

I plan on it...in fact, if you look historically, we usually have a few days in January that are in the 60's and sometimes in the 70''s. I like to wash my cars those days, take a pic, send it to all my cultured friends in Chicago, New Jork, and other haunts of alleged civility. That way, they can keep telling me, "it's not that bad"...I usually do it a friend's doc on Lake Lanier....a real hoot....drives them nuts.....shame it can't last all January but, it gets the message delivered efficiently enough...

While it's true, when we look for culture in Atlanta, we usually head to the dairy aisle at K-Roger or Publix, (skip, Ingles...it's only the meager rations that K-Roger and Publix throw away) and select a yogurt. Chicago and New York got us there.

But, then again, if I had to choose between the Symphony and cargo shorts with a bud, I'll choose door number 2. Especially in January....hey, New York...guess how many fingers I'm holding up now?

Hey, I'm as deep as a saucer, what can I say......because I ""care""...about what? I have no idea....

I wear shorts all year round down here. Atlanta doesn't get "cold" in this Minnesota boy's opinion.

OP,

Do people wear shorts in October in Atlanta? Definitely. It depends on the day, average high in October is 72.7ºF. The average low is 54.0ºF ( Atlanta - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia ). Even though it doesn't get as cold as Minnesota, even the most staunch polar bears would be hard pressed to wear shorts year round given the humidity here. 40ºF on a cloudy day in Atlanta feels like 27ºF during the day out west in a ski town.

Also, there is culture in Atlanta, but you really have to dig for it and most likely get out of your geographical area. It isn't to be found OTP.

The younguns definitely do...all the way through the year.

I can remember my daughters complaining about being hot in their costumes on Halloween night.

Yes but probabaly not white shorts since it's after Labor Day

Seriously though when I moved here, it was pretty frosty in October but it has been borderline hot for a while now until late November. The temps seem pretty much correct except I would say mostly 70s instead of anything dipping into the 80s..
