One of those is a significant outlier that is swaying the average to boot.

A vote for Obama was not a vote for ACA. If you recall, passing ACA was not a pretty process nor was it very well supported when it was passed. Just like now.

For such a sweeping, game changing law, its not very popular.

The topic is about the web site and experiences with it and the information within it (when you can get into it). This is not the politics forum. Stick to the topic or the topic will be closed as it's already being discussed in the politics room.

I was on it very early this morning (before 6 am) and it was working. It was to early for me to actually process what I was seeing. For my family of 4, prices seem to range from 400ish a month to 1500ish (or maybe higher, 2000?) for what appeared to be a huge range of benefits. (With one exception, that doesn't include dental or vision, I don't think). There were something like 85+ plans and it was way to early for me to compare and contrast.

Thank goodness the average person can now buy medical insurance! It sure has been a long time coming.

That is an incredible boost. Up to now, we were SOL if we had any pre-existing condition. For people like me, that meant you couldn't by any medical coverage whatsoever, regardless of price.
Indeed. I'm a freelancer, with no company. I'm not an S-Corp, and LLC, or anything. I'm just me. I make a fairly decent living. Our insurance premiums after our son was born were over $15,000 per year (I have since changed to my union's plan, which is still over $10,000 per year). That is practically impossible to afford. Yet, it was the only plan available to individuals in the state of Georgia which included maternity. Ridiculous.

I look forward to seeing what the website quotes to me. However, even though I have set up an account, I have yet to be able to get in and get an error every time.

Also self insured here. I'm not certain the exchange will be worth our signing up for, but it sure beats having no choice at all. We currently pay $12,000 a year for a pretty bare-bones policy. I'm going to keep trying to get on the site. We do have until March of 2014.

I don't think a lot of average people can afford $300-400 a month(or the fines if they don't sign up for it).
