Default Fulton County Homeownership Program Help Needed

Hi everyone,

My wife and I bought a home in Maryland 6 months ago and have since decided to move to Fulton County (specifically College Park or East Point). We'll be closing on the sale of that home on 11/23 and will be in Atlanta on 11/24 looking for a new home.

Given that we aren't first time homeowners, and have owned a home in the last 3 years, does anyone know of any programs we can look into?

We've already checked into HOME Atlanta, Georgia Dream Homeownership Programs.

Thanks in advance.

I would encourage anyone to attend some of the programs put on by HomeFreeUSA ( HomeFree-USA ). They provide education and counseling services to prospective homeowners. Clark Howard has mentioned them a few times and they are one of the education providers for HOME Atlanta. I attended the free Homeownership Program they offer and learned alot. Mr. Purcell is a great speaker, by the way.

In case anyone is planning to buy a place and rehab it, know that HOME Atlanta only assists with "move-in ready" houses. I'd love to know of any programs that assist with rehabs.
