Searching: Apartment <$700 w/ Utilities near MARTA train
Hello everybody!
I'm new to the city of Atlanta. I'm looking for an apartment that's near a MARTA train station (walking distance or 10 min. MARTA bus ride). I'm not so familiar with the areas but Decatur seems nice. Right now I'm subletting near College Park and would prefer to NOT stay here. I don't have a car so I need to also be close to grocery shopping. I'm looking for a middle class area that's safe, with a younger crowd (but not so many college students). I need one or more of the utilities to be included. This seems like a lot, but if I'm going to live there for a year and pay more than $8000 to live there I need to make sure it's great! So if you choose to respond I appreciate it in advance!
Thanks,
Dayna

Well, sorry - this doesn't fit into the "middle class 100% safe" area category, but for the price, it does. 710 Peachtree Street (The Worthing). Near the Fox Theater, and only 2 blocks from the North Avenue MARTA rail station. Varied ammenities within walking distance to it:
The Worthing at 710 Peachtree, Atlanta
They don't have such a huge approval rating on the apartment ratings site. Keeping in mind that people will tend to go out of their way to write a complaint over a compliment, here's that link: 710 Peachtree Apartments Ratings, Reviews, Map, Rents, and other Atlanta apartments for rent from ApartmentRatings.com
So, not quite meeting all of your criteria, but location and price wise it's there, plus I do believe they include all of the utilities in the rent.

You might try 'The Park' at Briarcliff---older apartments, about 1,000 units--very eclectic community, open minded people of all kinds, safe--lots of Marta buses going by/ to and from Brookhaven, Lindbergh and 5 Points. Plenty of shopping. Owned managed by Gables --they have a lake, dog park--a variety of floor plans. No washer/dryer in the apts--but there is a facility on the property.
Emory is about 10 minutes away. Loehman's Plaza has a good selection of shops--a new Starbucks and Panera Bread just opened.
HTH.
