That's not picking on GSU. It would be equally terrible at any college.
Hmm how do you think that this issue should be addressed?

Well, I'm not an expert but I'd suggest the following:

-- educate students not to rob people (including other students); try to teach value of honor, the downside of crime, how it negatively affects everyone, and so forth

-- increase security in dorms; maybe roaming guards, panic buttons, a "dorm watch" program, etc.

-- warn students in dorms not to open door or let anyone in unless they know them well; teach basic self-defense techniques and strategies

Good ideas. Also, now that they have these clowns in custody, make examples of them by giving all three of them extremely lengthy jail sentences.

Better yet, perhaps, how about being required to admit their crimes and their foolish, selfish intentions to their victims, and to the other dorm residents? Both verbally and in writing.

That could be followed by a 3 year supervised probation or something comparable.

I'm not soft on crime, I just wonder if long prison terms really do any good. These young gents will be popcorn shrimp in prison and I can't imagine they will come out any better.

GSU is having such crappy press recently. Robbing in dorms, best sugar baby college, being outpaced by KSU in admissions, white student union and another straight losing football season(yes people actually look at those in admissions)

I don't remember all of it, but I think applications will take a hit again this year. Wonder how long before more students apply to KSU than GSU.

You don't understand. This is Georgia State. First of all, those who robbed WERE the students. Educate students not to rob people? lol yeah that's a class that needs to be taught at GSU. "Life 101: Robbing is bad" and increase security in dorms? They have everything. They beefed up security in the commons(where this robbery took place) last year because people were stealing TVs from the dorm common rooms. All employees at GSU are students. There aren't any actual full-time employees.

GSU is not a good school, but it isn't a pre-k..

They need to beef up admissions so morons who steal from their classmates with guns in the dorms aren't admitted to the research university. What-a-joke

Why do we just napalm the campus then?

We get it, you hate GSU.

Well am I wrong? You're going to teach research university students not to rob one another? They shouldn't be admitted. They're not university ready.

Y'all understand the different missions of colleges right?

Look at the classifications:

That's exactly my point. Apparently some students haven't gotten that message.

Just realized a typo. The robbers were students as were the people who got robbed.

GSU needs a culture shock.
