Again, only the bridge is getting rebuilt. A MARTA extension would require significant tunneling that takes place outside the scope of this project.

It's not so much "not caring" but the fact that GDOT can only do what the General Assembly dictates in terms of mission.

Default Poor plan of improvement GA 400 Northridge

One question, why is there seeming a reluctance to use 'cloveleaf' taffic patterns at limited access roadways in GA? Requiring traffic to cross opposing traffic seems to be a major reason for traffic congestion at major highway entrances, seem like areas have enough available land to make cloverleafs, why not??? I won't touch the question of enty lanes into left (highspeed) lanes of highways (i.e. US 285 eastbound to GA 400 northbound ??)

I do not know how possible it would be to improve this interchange. The east side of US-19/GA-400 is residential. You would likely have negativity if the northbound exit and entry ramps were to be improved.

That interchange is tricky. On the east side you have Roberts Drive coming in from the south and on the west side you have Dunwoody Place coming in from the north. Re routing those roads even just a little would require too much. You have too many homes and businesses right there to expand much.

Cloverleafs take up much more space than typical diamond interchanges and have the added issue of entering/exiting traffic weaving in the "clover" ramp area.

The I-285/GA 400 interchange is a very outdated design built in the late 1960s and will eventually be reconstructed similar to Spaghetti Junction.
