The Braves are in negotiations with two global players in the entertainment industry, said Schuerholz, who lives in Vinings. (The Atlanta Business Chronicle reported in May that the development might include a concert venue managed by an entertainment company such as Los Angeles-based AEG, which works with artists such as singer Taylor Swift and on events such as ESPN X Games, or Beverly Hills-based Live Nation Entertainment Inc., which produces many local events, including Music Midtown. The report said other ideas for the complex include a microbrewery).
Schuerholtz said Tuesday, “Whichever one we decide on, we believe we will have the finest partnership which will help us provide the entertainment function of that mixed-use development when there are not baseball games being played during the off season. It will be a 365-days-a-year facility and entertainment could be available through most of those days.”
It's amazing, I went by the site in the evening on the way home and they've already dug out most of subsurface for the stadium and cleared most of the land.
I guess they are trying to get as much in the ground as they can before any possible injunctions. The official reason is they want to move the gas pipeline as quickly as possible.

Before:
There's not much building that can be done before that pipeline is moved, so they might as well get that over with.
Now, for something serious. Here's an op-ed from one of the 12 Braves fans talking about what really happened at the commissioner meeting, and how those in opposition twisted and manipulated the situation.
At 7 p.m., the meeting was called to order, and following a prayer, the cameras turned on. It is at that moment the plan referenced above was put in to action. Almost on cue, those in opposition began shouting at Chairman Tim Lee, begging to be heard, accusing him of silencing “the people” (as if to imply we are not people) and refusing to allow the chairman to even speak in response to their remarks.
They shouted out of order and out of turn as much to the TV cameras as to the chairman. They were only asked to leave the meeting when they would not stop shouting and behaving disrespectfully.
Just as they wished, the media took the bait. One by one, the reporters ran out after them, cameras rolling. One member of the opposition can even be seen in a photo being displayed prominently in the media with his arms behind his back as if he has been handcuffed (which he wasn’t).
As we spoke to the board, those outside carried on a press conference just as they had hoped. By that evening and since, they have made themselves the story and garnered far more attention than the five minutes we each received.
Even if his account is 100% accurate, what was it they had to fear from the dissent? Why did they feel it necessary to occupy all 12 slots just to kiss up to the commission?
How is this "what really happened"? The guy's an active member of the Cobb Chamber of Commerce and closely associated w/ all the folks that crowded out the speaking slots. Could his account be accurate? Possibly but he's hardly at arm's length to it at all.
Also, his self-victimization rings rather hollow. The indignation of getting called a Nazi b/c he spent some time putting up flags? You'd think he personally stormed the beaches of Normandy.
Edit: I also just noticed that Justin O'Dell is the same guy cited by the article you posted in the other cheerleading thread w/ the article by Dick Yarborough as someone impartial w/ a job that stood up in support of the Cobb Braves. He's as much a part of the Cobb machine as any of the others in that coordinated effort to drown out dissent. At least find another idiot as your poster child for the huge waves of "support" in the county. 700k residents and virtually every article in support mentions the same guy?

Even if the opponents were being a**holes, that doesn't matter. As the Westboro Baptist Church has shown us, free speech can include being an a**hole.
