Does Atlanta have a financial district? I am aware of Atlanta Financial Center.

In case you're wondering what I mean, is their an area of Atlanta that is known for being the hub for all things Finance?

DISCLAIMER: This is not a comparison but only examples

LaSalle St. (Chicago)

Wall St. (NYC)

Brickell (Miami)

Uptown (Charlotte)

Before anyone turns this into a comparison thread..IT'S NOT. These are examples for those that may not know what a financial district is. Why do I ask, because I am a Finance Geek. Also, I'm plotting my business ventures.

Buckhead on Peachtree Road. Directly across and west of the MARTA station.

I don't think it is as concentrated in one location. My feeling is Buckhead if I have to pick one. But you have financial companies in Midtown and have ICE (owner of NYSE) in the perimeter area.

Used to be Buckhead. Now nowhere in particular.

Okay, when I looked it up online, I saw repeated mentions of Buckhead but I didn't see any sort of parameters in terms of streets. Thanks.

The "Atlanta Financial Center" (building) is in Buckhead.

Yes, I am aware of that. That's a building, not a district. Thanks.

I can't think of any kind of "district" Atlanta has in terms of a primary concentration.

Buckhead is the Financial District of Atlanta. Lots of equity firms, wealth investment firms, etc.

It's diffuse--no district to speak of. Suntrust is our largest single finance company, and they're downtown. Various offices in Midtown, including Atlanta's small VC community at Georgia Tech and Invesco/Equifax in North Midtown. Buckhead has most of the small-firm finance, insurance, and real estate business, while ICE and others are up in the burbs. Atlanta's actually got a surprisingly large financial services industry when you add everything up, but nothing to match the likes of Charlotte, NYC, SF, and so on.
