Serenbe is not at all Amish. It's a planned community like Seaside--but centered around a farm instead of the beach. Full of former city people who want a small town feel but with upscale boutiques etc.

I did not really think it was Amish, but that is the first thing that came to mind. Well, actually it was the second thing because the first thing that came to mind was that M. Night Shymalan movie, The Village.

I am not knocking it or suggesting it's not nice, but as I said I only glanced at it.
